Pre-departure Brief

Dear Attendees,

Thank you for registering for the APAC Cloud to Edge aaS Bootcamp on 29 November - 1 December 2022. To help you prepare for the event, please refer to this document for your travel and accommodation details.

3. Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel accommodation is centrally PRE-BOOKED and PAID Check-in 28 November 2022, and Check-out 1 December 2022. Any additional night shall be paid, covered personally and at your own arrangement. Daily breakfast and internet are included as part of your room rates. If you have a hotel reservation made with GBT, kindly cancel them to avoid duplicate bookings. Any duplicate booking not cancelled upon arrival will be charge to your own expense.

The hotel official check-in time is at 3:00pm. Early check-in is subject to room availability upon arrival at the hotel. Please present your passport and corporate credit card as security deposit (for incidentals charges) during check-in.

Check-out
1 December 2022
The hotel official check-out time is at 12:00pm. Any late check-out is subject to room availability, and you may arrange with the hotel directly upon check-in. Nevertheless, baggage can be stored at the concierge after check-out.

4. Airport Transfer

Please note shuttle van/bus pick up from airport to hotel will be arranged at the airport on 27 November 2022 and 28 November. Please look for signage “APAC Edge to Cloud aaS Bootcamp” at the airport exit gate. Shuttle van/bus from hotel to airport will be arranged at on 1 December 2022. Please look for signage “APAC Edge to Cloud aaS Bootcamp” at the hotel lobby.

Since the shuttle will leave at specific timings, kindly accommodate if you need to wait for 15 -20 mins for few more participants who arrive at similar timings.

7. Name Badge

Name badge will be provided on the first day of the event – 29 November 2022 at the Registration counter outside the meeting room. The name badge serves as an admission pass to all meals, meetings and conference activities arranged as part of the event. Kindly remember to carry it with you each day throughout the duration of the event.

8. Attire

Smart casual attire for all sessions.
*We kindly request that no tee-shirts, bermudas / shorts and flip-flops / slippers be worn during this event.

9. Safety Measures & Face Mask

For your safety and the safety of others, you are highly recommended to always wear a face mask during the event, except when you are eating or drinking.

Please be reminded to bring along some Covid-19 Test Kits with you, in case for any emergency use.

10. Local Information

Climate
Bali's is located very near to the equator; therefore, its warm, tropical climate makes it a huge draw for tourists. Average year-round temperature stands at around 26-27°C with a humidity level of about 85-90%. Water temperatures are always pleasant. The two seasons are not clear cut and fully predictable.

Currency
The currency of Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). The rupiah comes in the following denominations: Bank notes: Rp1000, Rp2000, Rp5000, Rp10,000, Rp20,000, Rp50,000, Rp100,000. Use the currency converter (www.xe.com/currencyconverter) to determine the estimated value of your own local currency based on daily exchange rates. As of Feb, it is approximately USD 1 to IDR15,632.

Electricity
For Indonesia there are two associated plug types, C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins, with two earth clips on the side. Indonesia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Local SIM Cards
Local SIM cards and top-up cards are available for purchase at the airport upon arrival.

12. Entry to Indonesia

International

Peduli Lindungi Mobile Application
All International Travelers, both Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and Foreign Citizens (WNA) are required to:
Use the PeduliLindung application for international travel to enter the territory of Indonesia.
Effective from 5th April 2022, international travellers to Indonesia are only required to download PeduliLindungi mobile app and complete their user profile in the app.

Vaccination card or certificate
All international travellers must present a vaccination card or certificate (physical or digital) that shows the traveller has received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 (fourteen) days before departure. The following conditions apply:

  1. The vaccination card or certificate (physical or digital) must be written in English, in addition to the language of the country of origin.
  2. Indonesian citizens who have not been vaccinated abroad will be vaccinated at entry point after taking the PCR test on arrival with a negative test result or at the quarantine place after the second RT-PCR examination is carried out with negative results.
  3. Foreigners who have not been vaccinated abroad will be vaccinated at entry point after taking the PCR test on arrival with a negative test result or at the quarantine place after the second RT-PCR examination is carried out with negative results, under the following conditions:
    • Foreigners aged 6 — 17 years.
    • Holders of diplomatic residence permits, and official residence permits; and/or
    • Holders of a limited stay permit card (KITAS) and a permanent residence permit card (KITAP)
  4. Foreigners who are already in Indonesia and will travel, both domestically and internationally, are required to be vaccinated through a program or mutual cooperation scheme in accordance with statutory regulations.
  5. The obligation to present a COVID-19 vaccination card or certificate (physical or digital) is excluded for:
    • Foreigners who hold diplomatic visas and service visas related to official/state visits of foreign officials at ministerial level and above and foreigners who enter Indonesia under the Travel Corridor Arrangement scheme, according to the principle of reciprocity while still implementing strict health protocols.
    • Foreigners who have not been vaccinated and intend to travel domestically and continue with the aim of taking international flights out of the Republic of Indonesia are allowed not to show their COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate as long as they do not leave the airport area during transit waiting for the international flight, provided that the traveller:
      • has been permitted by the local Port Health Office to carry out domestic trips with the aim of being able to continue their flights out of Indonesia; and
      • shows the schedule of flight tickets outside Indonesia for direct transit from the city of departure to the international airport in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia with the final destination to the destination country.
    • International travellers under 18 years of age; and international travellers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent them from receiving vaccines, with the condition that they must attach a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital of the country of departure stating that the person concerned has not and/or is unable to take the COVID-19 vaccination.

Health Observation

  1. Overseas travellers will undergo a Covid-19 symptoms check including body temperature check upon arrival
  2. If you have no symptoms and with a body temperature below 37.5 degrees Celsius, you may continue the journey if you have been vaccinated with the second or third dose.
  3. If you show any symptoms and/or with a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius, you must take a PCR test, at your own expense for foreigners or borne by the government for Indonesian citizens.
  4. Overseas travellers who are waiting for their PCR test result should wait at the hotel, accommodation, or place of residence, and are not allowed to leave the room while waiting for the results.
  5. Overseas travellers who have not been vaccinated or only taken the first dose are required to quarantine 5 x 24 hours in hotels or accommodations that have been certified CHSE and recommended by the government, as well as retest on the 4th day of quarantine. Centralized quarantine facilities are only available for Indonesian citizens with certain travel categories and are not available in all destination cities.
  6. If the test result is positive, then treatment will be carried out in a centralized isolation facility for people without symptoms and people with mild symptoms, or at an appointed hospital for people with moderate and severe symptoms. For Indonesian citizens at the expense of the government, and for foreigners entirely borne by their own.
  7. Travelers of certain categories may be exempted from quarantine requirements.
